Housing Preservation Grant for NHS

DEADWOOD
- Today, Rep. Herseth Sandlin announced that Neighborhood
Housing Services of the Black Hills is the recipient
of a USDA Housing Preservation Grant in the amount
of $50,000. This funding will help Neighborhood
Housing Services of the Black Hills provide a
variety of housing-related services to approximately
42 families.
“I've
had the opportunity to visit with representatives
of Neighborhood Housing Services of the Black
Hills and tour their successful projects,”
Rep. Herseth Sandlin said. “I can attest
to the good work they are doing and with this
funding, they will have more resources to aid
them in their efforts to provide affordable housing
services to families in need across the Black
Hills.”
Administered
by USDA Rural Development, the Housing Preservation
Grant program supports efforts of organizations
like Neighborhood Housing Services who assist
eligible homeowners by providing low cost, high
quality and timely repairs as well as other housing
services such as providing available loan and
grant information and construction consulting.
